Simon Hart

 Simon Hart

Back in 1979 my Mum thought that watching Doctor Who together would be a good way for the two of us to spend some time together without my little sister. By the end of Destiny of the Daleks Part One, a fan was born. And here I am 42 years later as in love with the show as I was when I was 4 years old. I hope I never lose that feeling of excitement and wonder that I’ve always had from watching this wonderful show.

It may have been mentioned before, but I’ve been watching Doctor Who longer than Joe has been alive, but that hasn’t stopped me enjoying sharing my opinions with him! I was delighted to be suggested to take part in my first Hamster With A Blunt Penknife, thanks to a suggestion by our mutual friend and contributor, Conrad Westmaas. Our first commentary was for The Leisure Hive and as soon as that was over, I was instantly wanting to do another one and mulling over which stories I’d choose to talk about with Joe.

It’s been an utter delight to do these commentaries and I’ve been blown away by the reaction to them online as they go up. After years of my family telling me my opinions on Doctor Who wouldn’t get me anywhere, I’m so pleased that some people seem to like them!
